Burton Fleming Scarecrow Festival 2011

SUNDAY 21ST AUGUST

The festival kicks off at The Burton Arms with: the ‘Children’s disco’ from 5pm. Children who attend will be entered into a one off children’s draw with a prize worth over £20.

At 7.30pm a pie & pea supper will be served followed by live music by ‘Spanna’.

 

Monday 22nd to Friday 26th at the Methodist Chapel Rooms.

Bring a book and swap it for one you have not read yet!

 

During the Bank Holiday weekend St. Cuthbert’s will hold a display of

'PASTIMES, PICTURES & POSIES'

The church will be open:

Sat 27th Aug 10.00 - 4.00pm

Sun 28th Aug 12.00 - 4.00pm

Mon 29th Aug 10.00 - 4.00pm

Craft demonstrators & visiting organists will be in attendance.

Admission is free but all proceeds will be for the day-to-day running costs of the church

 

TUESDAY 23RD AUGUST

Michael Carr will be playing live organ music at The Burton Arms with refreshments ticket price £3,

 

THURSDAY 25TH AUGUST

The History Group are holding an evening about the brief History of Burton Fleming.   Picking out points of interest through the last 1000 years,

The last twenty minutes of the talk will be about the years (1920-1950)

Admission Fee £2 per person

MONDAY 29TH AUGUST

The Festival is to finish with a village market with gift, craft and charity stalls also a dog show with categories like most like there owner, Bouncy castle, Ice cream, bbq refreshments and music by Michael Carr.

 

The Village Hall is holding an Exhibition of Art by Local Artists From 11am. To 4.00p.m.

Some exhibits will be for sale. Cost per exhibit is 25p plus a 10% donation of any sale to Village Hall Funds. Refreshments will be available. All profits to Village Hall Funds

The Methodist Church will be open as usual during the week for refreshments.
