Elton John Live @ Scarborough Open Air Theatre

Elton John Singing in Scarborough

On Sunday 5th June 2011, Elton John made his first ever appearance in Scarborough and rocked the Open Air Theatre in front of 8,500 fans.

Elton John said he'd performed all over the world but never in Scarborough before and that it was brilliant to be there.

He performed solo, without a band for 2 and a half hours and signed autographs before heading back to his helicopter at the Rugby Club!

He ended with an encore of 'Circle Of Life' and 'I'm Still Standing' after performing hits like 'Candle In The Wind', 'Crocodile Rock', 'Your Song' and 'Sacrafice'.

Many at the front got up and danced in the aisles!

Wonderful night. Truly memorable. Everyone involved should be very proud of the event. It was wonderful seeing Elton with just a piano. Fantastic!

What an absolutely wonderful evening at "The Open Air Theatre" in Scarborough. Sir Elton and his Yamaha Piano performing for two and a half hours! Absolutely faultless! The venue was perfect and I hope to be able to attend further concerts by other celebrated artistes in the not too distant future. Congratulations to everyone involved in the smooth running and organisation of such a fabulous and memorable evening!!

Great photos. Wish we'd gone but found out about the concert after it had sold out.

It was a wonderful show and a magical night. My boyfriend proposed to me during the opening song, "The One". We were dead center, 7th (G)row. Elton was amazing. Thank you for all the great photos.
