An original and exciting new ensemble of young British singers, Stile Antico’s release, Song of Songs, won the 2009 Gramophone Award for Early Music and reached the top of the US Classical Chart. Here they explore stunning yet neglected music; the wealth of Tudor and Jacobean sacred music written for private performance, rather than for worship in church. Charting a course through remarkable historical and religious events, it gets to the heart of the original, intimate concept of chamber music. Pre-concert Talk, 6pm: Members of Stile Antico give an insight into their approach to this spellbinding repertoire.
