Rotunda: The WIlliam Smith Musuem Of Geology

Originally opened in 1829, the Rotunda is one of the oldest purpose built museums in the world and in 2008 was re-opened following millions of pounds of refurbishment with a new lower floor being added along with the landscaping of the entire Aquarium Top area.

The Rotunda celebrates the area's reputation as 'The Dinosaur Coast' along with William Smith, 21st century geology and everyone from the l9th century who were the original instigators of the Museum.

Scarborough Art Gallery

Scarborough Art Gallery fills an Italianate Villa on The Crescent between the South Bay & Valley Gardens and the Town Centre. It's close proximity and sea views from the first floor make the Gallery the ideal location to show a variety of historic and contemporary art. There are many touring shows of art so check in advance to find out exactly what you can see.

The Spa

Scarborough Spa Complex is located in Scarborough’s picturesque South Bay and is one of the most prestigious venues for conferences, exhibitions, entertainment and events on the Yorkshire Coast. Owned and managed by Scarborough Borough Council, the Spa Complex aims to provide the event organiser and leisure visitor with some of the best facilities in the area

Stephen Joseph Theatre

The Stephen Joseph Theatre moved to its present home in the 1990's. The original theatre was founded in 1955 by Stephen Joseph who created a 'theatre-in-the-round' at the library. In 1976 the theatre moved to a tempory home on the ground floor of the former Scarborough Boys High School. It wasn't until 1988 when the Odean Cinema closed that a suitable location was found.

The new theatre has 2 auditoria. The 'Round' has 404 seats and continues the 'theatre-in-the-round' tradition. The McCarthy is a 165 end stage/ cinema. Internationally acclaimed playright Sir Alan Ayckbourn premiers his latest plays here, attracting visitors from all over the UK and beyond. more

The Futurist Theatre & Cinema

The Futurist is situated on Scarborough's Foreshore, South Bay and provides varied entertainment for both local people and visitors, from major stars for one-off concerts to full staged weekly musicals, children's shows, ballet, one-off concerts, and of course the traditional summer shows. 

The Futurist also offers conference facilities, with seating for 2148 people
