Things to do for FREE in Scarborough...

Huge FREE events...

Scarborough plays host to some pretty huge events which are free to attend! Tour De Yorkshire, Armed Forces Day (this year with The Red Arrows), P1 Powerboat Racing and SEAFEST to name a few.

Rockpooling...

Try Scarborough's South Bay between The Spa and the Holbeck landslip has some of Scarborough's best rockpooling, but check the tide times carefully! Also good to explore is Scarborough's North Bay near Sealife but be careful! The rocks can be very slippy!

Walking...

Take a walk with the family along our fantastic promenades, cliff paths and harbour piers! Plenty of places to stop for refreshments too! The Spa in South Bay to The Sands complex in North Bay is around 2.5 miles! You could always get an Open Air Bus back round!

Explore our amazing parks...

A walk around Peasholm Park and its Glen is a must! Also worth exploring are St. Nicholas Gardens! Spot a Canary Island Date Palm Tree! But also great to walk around are South Cliff Gardens, Royal Albert Park and Falsgrave Park!

Have a beach day...

We don't like to boast (too much) but we believe we have the best beaches in the country! Soft sand, warmed by the summer sunshine and firm sand at low tide perfect for building sandcastles! We have several beaches to choose from!

A National Park on the doorstep...

There are so many amazing places to explore in the North York Moors like this stunning view just north of Levisham! You won't regret a day out in the National Park which borders Scarborough's boundary!

Free entertainment...

Keep an eye out for free brass band concerts in Peasholm Park and free family shows at Scarborough Open Air Theatre during the summer holidays!
