What To See
Beautiful Coastline

Scarborough and the Yorkshire Coastline is blessed with some of the UK's finest scenery. From the dramatic cliffs and headlands, to the award-winning beaches with their soft golden sand attracting visitors day after day, year after year. And Scarborough appreciates it's beauty, so no high rise tower blocks like you find in Brighton and Bournemouth. There are the famous postcard views, like those from Olivers Mount, the Esplanade and the Castle, but there's lot's to discover at places like Cayton Bay, Cornelian Bay & Hayburn Wyke where a stream winds it's way through a wooded valley and topples over the cliff with a 20ft waterfall.
Fabulous Attractions

Scarborough has loads of attractions and even on a rainy day there are plenty of places to visit. From the Sealife Centre, home to seals, penguins, sharks, octopus, seahorses, otters and of course lots of fish to historical attractions like Scarborough Castle and the Rotunda Museum. Why not try horse riding seaside style at Staintondale Shire Horse Farm or take a trip on Scarborough's Miniature Railway, one of the oldest and best in the country. See the world famous naval warfare at Peasholm Park, go 10 pin bowling at Fantasy Forest on the Foreshore or take a trip out on one of Scarborough's Pleasure Steamers or Speedboats.
The Country's Finest Parks & Gardens

In our opinion, Peasholm Park is the finest in the country. It's very special and has recently undergone a massive improvement programme to restore it to it's former glory and create new woodland walks with improved lighting and signs. Where else can you find a park close to the beach with a lake you can sail on in a pedalo or rowing boat, circumnavigating the island with it's Japanese style Pagoda on top and 30ft waterfall. And a park which hosts one of the oldest shows on earth: The Naval Warfare. There's more though.. Peasholm Glen winds it's way from the park through woodland which boasts some of the rarest species of tree in Britain. The stream cascades over a series of waterfalls into miniature lakes, a lush paradise of watery worlds level by level. As well as Peasholm another must-see are the South Cliff Gardens with the Rose Garden and Italian Gardens nestling in the trees between the Esplanade and the rock pools of the South Bay. Also of note St. Nicolas Gardens and Royal Albert Park.
Unique Events

Scarborough hosts loads of unique events throughout the year the most famous of which is probably Scarborough Fayre. Others include Seafest, the Continental Market, Olivers Mount Motorbike Racing, the Beached music festival, Scarborough Jazz Festival, the National Student Drama Festival, Coastival (which visit scarborough are working with) and many more!
