Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre is the largest in Europe (since Antiquity) and the original was built by Scarborough Corporation in the 1930’s. The Lord Mayor of London opened the Open Air Theatre in Northstead Manor Gardens in 1932, and audiences flocked to see ‘Merrie England’, the first production to be staged at the outdoor venue. International superstar Lionel Richie will return to the UK in 2018 with a show at Scarborough Open Air Theatre. This not-to-be-missed Yorkshire coast date on Tuesday June 19 is part of the music icon’s summer tour which will visit stunning open-air venues across the country

The Script are heading to the Yorkshire coast next summer for what promises to be a sensational night at Scarborough Open Air Theatre.

The Irish rock band who this year scored their fourth Number 1 UK album will play Europe’s largest open-air theatre on Thursday June 21st 2018.

Fri 22nd June - Gary Barlow

This will be Gary’s first visit to Scarborough OAT – Europe’s largest open-air theatre – but the Yorkshire coast resort already holds a special place in the multi-award-winning star’s heart. He played Scarborough’s old Futurist Theatre with Take That as part of the legendary Take That And Party Tour in 1992 – which catapulted the band to superstar status – and he returned to the same venue as a solo artist in 2013.

Legendary musician Nile Rodgers and his band CHIC will bring a night of dance, hip hop and rock to the Yorkshire coast this summer.

Pop superstars Steps are heading to the Yorkshire coast in 2018 for a sensational night at Europe’s largest open-air theatre. The Brit Award winning band are well and truly back after returning this year with their stunning new album Tears On The Dancefloor and a string of sold out arena shows.

Alfie Boe will headline what promises to be a magical night as Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre hosts a special Armed Forces Day concert on Saturday June 30th 2018.

Thur 5th July - Emeli Sandé

Brit Award winner and No.1 recording artist Emeli Sandé will play a not-to-be-missed show at Europe’s largest open-air theatre this summer.

Emeli – whose global hits include ‘Read All About It’, ‘Next To Me’, ‘My Kind of Love’ and ‘Clown’ – will play Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Thursday July 5.

Fri 6th July - Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

Get ready Yorkshire – Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are heading to Scarborough Open Air Theatre this summer. Fresh from the success of the No.1 album ‘Who Built the Moon?’ – and sold out tour dates around the world – Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will play Europe’s largest open air theatre on Friday July 6.

Fri 20th July - Pete Tong's Ibiza Classics

Legendary dance DJ Pete Tong with the Heritage Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley will bring a taste of Ibiza to the Yorkshire coast this summer.


The critically acclaimed Ibiza Classics show, which is a smash hit with fans of both dance and orchestral music, will head to Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Friday July 20th

Bastille are heading to the Yorkshire coast this summer for what promises to be a stunning  night at Scarborough Open Air Theatre. The chart-topping and multi-award-winning band behind such anthems as ‘Pompeii’, ‘Good Grief’, ‘Laura Palmer’ and ‘Things We Lost In The Fire’ will play Europe’s largest open-air theatre on Saturday July 28.

Chart topping rock band Texas will play a headline show at Scarborough Open Air Theatre this summer. The Scottish band – who have sold more than 40 million albums in a brilliant career that has spanned four decades – will play Europe’s largest open-air theatre on Saturday August 11.

Fri 17th August - Britney Spears

Legendary pop icon Britney Spears has announced her exclusive last time ever, limited tour of her award-winning and record-breaking show, “Britney: Piece of Me.” For the first and only time, “Britney: Piece of Me” will visit East Coast US and Europe for a very limited engagement for fans that were not able to see the show in Las Vegas.

James – who have sold more than 25 million records worldwide – have released 14 studio albums over the past 30 years which have gained both critical and commercial acclaim.
