2026 sees Scarborough celebrate its 400th anniversary as a seaside resort, the UK's first! Join us on this 90-minute guided walking tour with Visit Scarborough's Paddy Billington as we tell the story from the spa waters being discovered in 1626, right up to the present day.

This enlightening walk will fill you with incredible little-known facts - ones that'll make you appreciate this wonderful place even more! And you will see the story behind Scarborough's unique architecture and how this 'town of firsts' has kept up with the pace to remain popular.

This walk starts in the town centre and takes in some of the South Cliff and South Bay and is at a leisurely pace and mostly flat with a few steps downwards.
