Goldwing Light Parade & Firework Display Just 1 Week Away!

One of the highlights of Scarborough's year is just 1 week away, with the return of the Goldwing Light Parade & Fireworks Display, on Saturday 9th September 2023.
The FREE event sees Goldwing bikes on display from 10am until 4pm on West Pier. The vehicles will start to muster at around 6:30pm, the same time on-stage activity begins by the lifeboat station from local radio station This Is The Coast. Breakfast Show presenter Paddy Billington will be hosting games and giveaways. Tom Hooper from the Afternoon Show will be judging the Goldwings and 'Coast crew Nicky' will be taking pictures with Rover Reporter, the mascot dog.
The start of the Goldwing Light Parade is 8:00pm prompt. The illuminated bikes, perhaps 100 in total, perhaps even more than that, will parade along Foreshore Road towards the Spa Bridge. They will turn around and come back along the Foreshore then along Scarborough Harbour and along Marine Drive to North Bay.
The Goldwings will turn around at Peasholm and head back along the seafront back to West Pier in South Bay.
As well as on-stage entertainment, the seafront amusement arcades, takeaways, restaurants, shops and attractions will stay open as excitement builds for the next big event; fireworks!
It will be all eyes to the sky for the fireworks at 9:30pm. They will happen on South Bay Beach so anywhere around South Bay will offer a great vantage point, including Scarborough Harbour, Foreshore Road and The Esplanade.
The Goldwing Light Parade is a big fundraiser for charity and once again this year, Yorkshire Air Ambulance will be benefitting from the event.
Please be as generous as you can to those who will be shaking buckets.
There will be a Yorkshire Air Ambumance stall set up close to the stage near West Pier.
