Scarborough Named UK's 4th Most Popular Beach On Instagram!
The study by LuxuryHotel.com found Scarborough Beach has 126 hashtags per metre. That figure was created by using the amount of hashtags compared to the length of the beach. Scarborough Beach had 158,532 hashtags on Instagram and the beach was deemed to be a mile long. It's not clear if Scarborough having two beaches was taken into account!
Topping the list was Kynance Cove in Cornwall with 54,847 hashtags for just 200 metres of beach, giving it a total of 272 hashtags per square metre.
Scarborough was the only beach in the north of England to feature in the top 10.
