What is and isn't open this Bank Holiday Weekend?

Amusement Arcades

NO! This is the question we're being asked most at the moment and these are due to reopen on May 17th. Seafront shops ARE open though.

Fish & Chips

YES! All of Scarborough's seafront Fish & Chip takeaways are open.

Boat Trips

These have been running since April 12th and are of course weather dependent.

Accommodation

Only self catering accommodation is available with hotels and guest houses etc reopening on 17th May.

Ice Cream Parlours

Popular places like Harbour Bar and Holy Cow are open for takeaway. There is limited outdoor seating at Harbour Bar.

Dogs On Beaches

The ban on dogs on part of South Bay Beach and North Bay Beach starts this weekend. See previous article and follow clear signage.

Donkey Rides

YES! There are two sets of donkeys on South Bay Beach in operation this weekend.

Attractions

Open are places like Scarborough Castle, Scarborough Footgolf, Pirate Golf at Sealife (not the main centre though), North Bay Railway and other outdoor attractions. Booking in advance in most cases.

Pubs & Restaurants

OUTSIDE SEATING ONLY! But people have been enjoying meals on the harbourside at Ask, Antons, King Richard III and at Farrers at Scarborough Spa and at Taylors and others in North Bay etc. There is plenty of seating outside the New Lancaster on the harbourside too and some boats are providing drinks with outdoor seating and takeaways.

Cliff Lifts

Central Tramway next to the Grand Hotel is full open.

Open Top Buses

YES! There is a regular service operational around the seafront in Scarborough with East Yorkshire Buses and Shoreline Suncruisers.

Toilets

YES! All open although the ones near Olympia are being refurbished. Temporary ones are by the Ferris Wheel in South Bay.

Park & Ride

YES for Filey Road site on the A165. The A64 Seamer Road site reopens on 17th May.

Parking

YES! Charges apply although it's FREE after 6pm in council car parks.
